AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik responded harshly to Netanyahu's statements regarding the Turkish and Israeli armies.
Çelik described the events in Gaza as genocide and accused the Israeli administration of occupation and expansionism.
Emphasis on Gaza and Palestine
In his assessment of the Israeli army, Çelik stated that it is unacceptable to describe a force committing genocide in Gaza as "the world's most moral army."
He also emphasized Turkey's support for an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital based on the 1967 borders. Çelik noted that this stance aligns with United Nations parameters and international law.
Accusations of Occupation and Expansionism
Çelik equated Netanyahu's government with occupation and expansionism. He reiterated criticisms directed at the Israeli administration regarding the occupation of Gaza, settlement activities in the West Bank, and attacks on Lebanon.
Regarding the Interior Minister's remarks about Jerusalem, Çelik described them as a symbolic expression of love for Jerusalem, stating that every Muslim holds a special place for Jerusalem in their heart.
Reaction to Attacks on the Press
Çelik also condemned physical attacks on journalists, calling them unacceptable. He emphasized that such attacks exceed the limits of protest or criticism and must be addressed.
While extending his wishes for a speedy recovery to those attacked, Çelik mentioned that this issue should also be evaluated within the party.
