Tottenham has officially completed the signing of Dutch international centre-back Yan Paul van Heek. The English club announced a long-term contract with the player from Brighton.
The 26-year-old defender moved from Dutch side NAC Breda to Brighton in 2020. Van Heek broke into the first team two years after joining the English club.
The Dutch footballer played a total of 131 matches for Brighton. Last season, he started 36 of the 38 Premier League matches he played.
Brighton finished eighth in the league last season, earning a place in European competitions. Van Heek stood out as a key part of that performance.
The Dutch player is currently with his national team at the 2026 World Cup. Van Heek is on the same team as Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven, who played in the opening match against Japan.
This move marks Tottenham's third signing of the summer transfer window. The London club previously agreed deals for Scottish left-back Andy Robertson and Argentinian centre-back Marcos Senesi from Bournemouth.
