Hamas and the Jerusalem Governorate warned that Israel plans to carry out one of the largest settler raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque tomorrow. Extremist 'Temple' groups are mobilizing thousands of settlers under the pretext of the so-called 'Temple Destruction Anniversary'.
In a statement on Telegram, Hamas noted that a 'savior' symbol was drawn in the eastern courtyard of Al-Aqsa Mosque, coinciding with preparations for a large-scale raid. The movement stressed that what is happening in Jerusalem is an attempt to change the city's religious and historical identity, and stated that Israel cannot impose a Judaization policy that would strip Al-Aqsa of its Arab and Islamic identity.
Hamas called on Palestinians to go to Al-Aqsa Mosque, pray in its courtyards, and thwart Israeli plans, while also inviting Arab and Islamic countries, religious institutions, and media organizations to take practical measures.
The Jerusalem Governorate also stated that such actions are no longer just the activity of extremist groups, but have become part of an 'official Israeli policy' aimed at creating new faits accomplis at Al-Aqsa and undermining the existing status quo. The Governorate announced that the number of raiders, which was 4,000 in a single day last year, is targeted to increase to 5,000 this year.
Data on the number of raiders in recent years is as follows: approximately 2,200 settlers in 2022 and 2023, 3,000 in 2024, and 4,000 in 2025. The Jerusalem Governorate stressed that Al-Aqsa Mosque in its entirety is purely Islamic, and that Israel's attempts to change its identity are invalid.
It was also noted that the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf Department's repeated calls to stop the raids have gone unanswered by the Israeli occupation authorities.
