Hundreds of Israeli settlers raided Al-Aqsa Mosque this morning and evening. During the developments at the holy site in Jerusalem, an official was also detained.
A Jerusalem-based human rights source reported that 397 people entered Al-Aqsa throughout the day. The Jerusalem Governorate stated that settlers performed Talmudic rituals during the raid.
According to the Governorate, since 2003 settlers have been entering Al-Aqsa through the Bab al-Maghariba gate in two separate time slots, before and after noon. Today's raid took place within this framework.
At the same time, the Jerusalem Governorate announced that Israeli forces detained Al-Aqsa official Hamza Nebali near the Dome of the Rock. The Governorate did not share information about Nebali's fate.
Meanwhile, in the Silwan district south of Jerusalem, municipal teams and nature authority officials jointly intervened on land owned by Arabs.
During the intervention, Palestinian belongings and vehicles were also confiscated. Local sources reported that barbed wire was placed around the land and a gate was installed at the entrance.
Khalid al-Zir, a Jerusalemite working on the land, said the area was suddenly raided and there was an attempt to seize the land. Al-Zir stated that the Israeli nature authority aims to convert the area into a public facility.
It was then reported that the area was closed off in favor of the municipality and access was blocked.
