The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Türkiye is recruiting four Arabic-Turkish volunteer interpreters through the UN Volunteers (UNV) platform for assignments in Gaziantep or Kahramanmaraş. Applications close on October 11, 2026.
The National UN Volunteer assignment starts on October 30 and runs for about six months, until April 30, 2027. Volunteers receive a monthly living allowance of $1,488 paid in local currency, private health insurance and a one-time entry allowance of $200, and arrange their own housing. The listing stresses that this is a volunteer assignment, not employment, and that the allowances are not a salary.
The volunteers will work with IOM's Protection Unit, which supports the voluntary relocation of Syrians under temporary protection and people under international protection within Türkiye to help them access jobs and integrate socially and economically. Tasks include word-for-word interpretation in interviews, calls and meetings, with strict impartiality and confidentiality.
Applicants need a bachelor's degree in translation, languages, political science, international relations or a related field with at least three years of experience, or a high school diploma with at least four years of experience. Experience working with migrants and refugees is an advantage.
