Iran's 2026 Nations League campaign ends in disappointment after loss to Turkey
Iran's men's national volleyball team bowed out of the 2026 FIVB Nations League after a 3-1 loss to Turkey in the third week. The team managed only one win in its last four matches, disappointing with its performance.
Iran's men's national volleyball team lost 3-1 to Turkey in the 2026 FIVB Nations League (VNL). The match ended with set scores of 17-25, 25-22, 25-16, and 25-19.
Ali Haghparast was Iran's top scorer with 20 points, while Adis Lagumdzija led Turkey with 23 points.
The team started the third week of the tournament with a 3-1 loss to Ukraine. It then managed to beat Germany 3-2 after five sets. However, following that win, Iran's form dipped, and it lost 3-0 to Slovenia and then 3-1 to Turkey in its final match, bidding farewell to the tournament.
The 2026 FIVB Men's Volleyball Nations League is being held from June 10 to August 2. The finals will be played at the Beilun Sports Hall in Ningbo, China.
