Iran's First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref, speaking at a meeting held at the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, emphasized that the country will defend against all threats. Aref said that this defense capacity continuously improved during conflicts.
Aref stated that during the Ramadan war, the enemy deliberately targeted Iran's industry, but despite this, reconstruction was completed with speed and quality. Noting that recent wars are technology wars and that the enemy used its most advanced capabilities, Aref said that young Iranian scientists prevented these objectives from being achieved.
Aref said that the post-revolution industrial policy aims to transform assembly-based industry into a domestic and knowledge-based sector, and stressed that research and development and university-industry links are of central importance. He stated that the development vision document targets regional leadership through industrial growth based on emerging technologies.
Pointing to the need to expand economic cooperation with regional countries, neighbors, and formations such as ECO, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, BRICS, and the Eurasian Economic Union, Aref said, 'The Iranophobia project has failed.' He added that the Islamic Republic's strategy is to develop regional and international partnerships.
Stating that in the era of the fourth industrial revolution, there is no way other than industrial development based on advanced, emerging, and domestic technologies, Aref said that artificial intelligence is no longer a luxury but a practical tool. He noted that making industry smart is among the country's most important tasks.
Finally, Aref called for the preparation of a two-year strategic document for industrial development. He also asked the ministry to provide operational solutions for the challenges in the automotive sector.
