According to Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, Israel's national airline El Al has temporarily suspended its flights on the Tel Aviv-Moscow route.
The company said it would assess recent developments between Russia and Ukraine and, based on that assessment, decide to resume Moscow flights.
El Al confirmed that passengers have been informed and that alternative options will be provided.
The newspaper reported that the decision to halt Moscow flights came after a series of Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian territory, particularly on Moscow.
It was reported that last week, Kyiv bombed a petrol station in Moscow, causing major damage.
The main justification for the decision is cited as the recurring Ukrainian attacks and the risk posed to civilian flights by Russia's air defense systems that may be used in response.
Last week, Russian authorities announced that over 200 Ukrainian drones had been shot down across various regions of the country, including the capital.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on June 18 that his forces had carried out strikes on targets in Moscow using long-range weapons, describing this as a "fair response" to Russia's bombing of Ukrainian cities.
As Russia's military operation, launched on February 24, 2022, continues, Moscow insists that for the operation to end, Ukraine must abandon joining Western military alliances. Kyiv considers this interference in its internal affairs.
