Ronaldo’s career goal tally reaches 980
In the 23rd minute, Ronaldo followed up inside the penalty area after goalkeeper Walid Abdullah parried Kingsley Coman’s powerful shot, putting Al-Nassr 1-0 ahead.
The goal took the Portuguese star’s career total to 980. Ronaldo is now 20 goals away from reaching his target of 1,000 career goals.
Al-Nassr doubled its lead in the 35th minute through Samu Costa. The Portuguese player rose to meet Joao Felix’s corner and headed the ball into the net.

The final goal of the match came in the 77th minute. Kingsley Coman ran in behind the defense from Sadio Mane’s pass, went one-on-one with the goalkeeper during a swift counterattack and completed the scoring.
Ronaldo draws strong interest in Riyadh
Ronaldo made his first appearance for Al-Nassr after a dispute with Portugal national team coach Jorge Jesus during the international break. Before the match, the stands in Riyadh showed strong interest in the Portuguese player.
Ronaldo said Jesus had failed twice to keep promises he made to him. He said he left the national team camp before the match against Denmark after they failed to reach an agreement on publicly explaining why he had not played against Norway.
The 41-year-old Ronaldo said he was prepared to continue playing for Portugal even if he were punished for leaving the camp.
