Konya will host a friendly match between the Palestine national team and TÜMOSAN Konyaspor on September 30 as part of the Palestine Day program. The match, which will be played under the slogan “My home is your home,” will form part of an international program aimed at drawing attention to developments in Palestine and Gaza.
Taha Ayhan, president of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum, announced that the event would be held as part of Konya's selection as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's Youth Capital for 2026. The program will be organized in cooperation with Türkiye's Ministry of Youth and Sports, Konya Metropolitan Municipality and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum.

Gaza and Palestine to be discussed in Konya
Ayhan said that Palestine and Gaza were among the main issues the forum had brought to international platforms. He said the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum shaped its projects around ensuring accountability for events in Gaza.
Recalling that a similar program had been held in Konya last year, Ayhan said Konya's status as the 2026 Youth Capital would give this year's event an international dimension.
The program's first session will address developments following the Gaza Tribunal and the current situation in Gaza. In the second session, thinkers, young intellectuals and activists from different countries will come together at the peace forum.

The forum will discuss humanity's position on the Gaza and Palestine issue, the steps that need to be taken and ways to ensure that those responsible for the events are held accountable. It will also consider what needs to be done to prevent a similar tragedy from happening again.
Ayhan said the events on September 30 were intended to show the international community Konya's position on humanity, law and justice. Former national team stars and football club executives are also expected to attend the program.
