Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko, speaking at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Kyrgyzstan, emphasized that Moscow's stance on the US and Israeli attacks on Iran has not changed.
Rudenko stated that Russia has strongly condemned these military actions from the outset and considers them an illegal attack. In light of recent developments, the Russian diplomat said they believe one of the parties has violated the agreements reached, and noted that they support the resumption of diplomatic efforts.
Rudenko, expressing Moscow's belief that such a process would serve the interests of all countries in the region, also touched on Tehran-Moscow relations. He conveyed that Iran and Russia have signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement and that both sides are determined to fully implement all provisions of the agreement.
Rudenko added that the agreement covers various areas such as economic and trade cooperation, the development of the International North-South Transport Corridor, and coordination on regional issues, and that implementation is being carried out seriously.
The Russian official also drew attention to Iran's full membership in the SCO, stating that Russia supported this process and assisted at one stage. Rudenko expressed hope that Iran would continue to view the SCO as a useful and effective platform for advancing its national interests.
