US President Donald Trump made statements on his social media account regarding the ongoing nuclear negotiations with Iran. Trump claimed that the Iranian side has accepted "the highest level and indefinite" inspections of its nuclear program "fully and unconditionally."
Trump alleged that Iranian officials and media are trying to "downplay" the gains achieved by the US. The US President said, "Iran has fully and unconditionally accepted the highest level of inspection of its nuclear program for an indefinite period, that is, forever. This will ensure 'nuclear honesty.'"
Trump emphasized that if Iran had rejected this condition, the negotiations would be considered concluded. The US President stated that based on this and other significant concessions by Iran, he has allowed the Strait of Hormuz to remain open and that the naval blockade will no longer be enforced. Trump added that a blockade currently seems unlikely, but if needed, all ships will remain in place.
Iranian assets and humanitarian aid
The US President announced that Iranian assets to be released by the Treasury Department and the funds resulting from the lifting of sanctions will be transferred to a US-controlled account. He noted that these funds will be used to purchase food and medical supplies from American producers.
Pointing out that Iran needs food products such as corn, wheat, and soybeans, Trump said, "This is a humanitarian crisis, and I believe help is needed now before it is too late. The negotiations are going well."
Oil record in the Strait of Hormuz
In another post, Trump announced that 19 million barrels of oil were transported through the Strait of Hormuz on June 22, calling it a "record." The US President expressed the view that "Oil prices are falling and the world is becoming safer."
