US President Donald Trump, while outlining his policy towards Iran, stressed that they will not allow its nuclear weapons acquisition efforts. Speaking at an economic event in Las Vegas, Trump said, "I'd prefer to make a deal with them because I don't want to kill people."
Trump stated that they were ready to launch the largest attack since World War II, but suspended the plan after intervention by Gulf leaders and Iranian officials. "They called me and said please don't do this, let's talk. We are currently negotiating," he said.
Noting that talks are ongoing, the US President reiterated that they are ready to hit Iran 'hard' if the process fails. He once again stated that their main goal is to prevent Iran from possessing nuclear weapons.
