Lebanon's National News Agency announced on Monday that an Israeli drone (UAV) struck a vehicle with a guided missile in the Nabatieh al-Fawqa area in the south of the country. Four people in the vehicle were killed.
According to the agency, the attack targeted four people who were returning after checking on their family homes. Among the dead are a Lebanese school principal, his mother, a foreign domestic worker, and a Syrian worker.
This attack was the latest incident in southern Lebanon, where the Hezbollah-Israel ceasefire agreement that took effect on June 21 has been repeatedly violated by Israel. Israel claims the strikes aim to destroy "Hezbollah military structures" in the area.
The Lebanese Health Ministry announced that since March 2, a total of 4,319 people have been killed and 12,203 wounded in Israeli attacks.
Lebanese Information Minister Paul Morqos stated that they estimate the direct material damage from Israeli attacks to be between $3 and $4 billion. He stressed that this figure does not include economic losses and indirect damage.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army continues to violate the framework agreement signed with Lebanon. According to the National News Agency, Israeli forces blew up houses in two southern towns on Monday, and the night before carried out an explosion in the town of Hula in the Marjayoun district.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said that despite "efforts by some to stir up strife," there is "no place for civil war in Lebanon." Aoun stated that the continued Israeli occupation of southern territory prevents the deployment of the Lebanese army and serves neither Beirut's nor Washington's goals.
President Aoun stressed "the importance of pressuring Israel to withdraw from the areas it occupies in Lebanon." He noted that "the continuation of the occupation undermines the state's legitimacy, prevents the army's deployment, and damages the foundations of a just and lasting peace."
The framework agreement signed between the Lebanese government and Israel on June 26 under US mediation envisages Israel's gradual withdrawal from all occupied Lebanese territory and the disarmament of Hezbollah. In response, Hezbollah announced that it categorically rejects the agreement, will not hand over its weapons, and that the disarmament clause in the agreement is unenforceable.
