The US Central Command announced that since the start of the naval blockade, 141 commercial ships linked to Iran have been redirected, and 9 ships have been disabled.
The command stated that as of June 13, the measures aim to regulate maritime traffic. The statement emphasized that the application covers all ships of any country entering or leaving Iranian ports and coastal areas.
Iran’s ports in the Basra and Gulf of Oman regions are included in this scope. However, it was noted that the international trade corridor remains open for transit passage for other ships.
This development follows earlier reports that Iran sent several drones toward commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz, highlighting renewed pressure on maritime security and trade flow in the region.
