Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ismail Bagheri announced that his country will continue its interaction with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
In a statement to the IRNA news agency, Bagheri said, "Interaction with the IAEA will continue in accordance with Iran's safeguards agreement obligations with the IAEA, the current arrangements, and the decisions of the Parliament and the Supreme National Security Council."
US Vice President's statement on inspectors for Iran
US Vice President JD Vance stated that IAEA inspectors could arrive in Iran this week.
The Iranian news agency IRNA, citing informed sources, reported that nuclear issues were not on the table during the Iran-US talks held in Switzerland.
Access conditions and past restrictions
Spokesperson Bagheri had previously stated that IAEA access to Iranian nuclear facilities that were subjected to bombings would depend on the results of talks with the US. The IAEA's access to the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant continues.
In June 2025, following US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, Iran restricted its cooperation with the IAEA and access to nuclear facilities, declaring that all decisions regarding interaction with the organization would be made by the Supreme National Security Council.
