Iran pledges diplomatic efforts to lift Yemen blockade
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister Jalal al-Ruwaishan in Tehran and announced that he would mobilize all diplomatic means to lift the blockade on Yemen.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a meeting in Tehran with Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister Major General Jalal al-Ruwaishan. The meeting was part of diplomatic contacts with delegations arriving in the capital for the funeral of Iran's religious leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Yemeni official al-Ruwaishan conveyed his condolences to the Iranian leader, government and people over the claims regarding Khamenei's death. He also congratulated Iran on its diplomatic breakthrough, describing its resistance against the US and Israel as a 'great and historic victory'.
Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi, for his part, thanked the Yemeni government and people for condemning the military attacks on Iran and showing solidarity.
Araghchi emphasized during the meeting that Iran is ready to use all its diplomatic capacity to lift the blockade on Yemen and fully implement the peace roadmap.
