Five Palestinians were injured on Saturday in attacks carried out by settlers and Israeli forces in the West Bank. In incidents in the Ramallah and Bethlehem areas, Israeli soldiers also intervened in the settler attacks.
Ramallah: Three Injured
In the village of Umm Safa, northwest of Ramallah, Israeli forces intervened with plastic bullets after settlers attacked the outskirts of the village. According to village council head Marwan Sabbah, the settlers first stole four sheep. When villagers resisted, Israeli forces raided the area, fired plastic bullets, and injured three Palestinians.
Sabbah stated that the village is surrounded on all sides by illegal settlement outposts and that residents are prevented from accessing their land, saying, "Our village is facing a real displacement project."
Bethlehem: Two Injured by Tear Gas
Two Palestinians were affected by tear gas in a settler attack in the Halayil al-Luz area southeast of Bethlehem. The Palestine Red Crescent Society said that medical teams treated them at the scene and the injured were taken to hospital.
Nablus: Homes and Agricultural Structures Seized
In the village of Qibla, south of Nablus, settlers under the protection of Israeli forces seized three Palestinian homes and five agricultural structures (shacks). Witnesses said that one of the seized homes had a family inside and that the family was forcibly removed. Israeli forces closed the road leading to the seized area, preventing Palestinian access and isolating the area.
Jenin: Home Turned into Military Outpost
In the village of Arabbuna in Jenin, Israeli forces raided a two-story home, evacuated the family, and turned the house into a military outpost. Village council head Hashem Abu al-Hasan told the WAFA news agency that the home belonging to Shadi Abu al-Hasan had begun to be used for military purposes.
Escalation in Settler Attacks
Settler violence and Israeli military operations in the West Bank have increased markedly in recent years. According to data released on Wednesday by the Palestinian Israeli Research Center "Madar," the number of illegal settlement outposts jumped from an average of 8 per year between 2012 and 2022 to 32 in 2023, 62 in 2024, and 86 in 2025.
Since October 8, 2023, attacks by the Israeli army and settlers in the West Bank have killed 1,175 Palestinians, injured 12,919, detained approximately 24,000, and displaced 33,000.
