Hossein Kermanpour, head of the Public Relations and Information Center of Iran's Health Ministry, announced new figures regarding the US attacks on Iran. In a statement on the social media platform X, Kermanpour said that 53 people had lost their lives and 592 were injured in airstrikes that Iran claims the US has been carrying out since June 27.
The official noted that 36 of the wounded are still receiving treatment in hospitals, while the others have been discharged after receiving necessary medical care. Iran's Health Ministry had previously announced on July 19 that more than 50 people had been killed and 520 injured since June 27.
The US has not yet made an official statement regarding these claims.
