Iranian adviser Nakdi said the Strait of Hormuz was closed and that Iran’s armed forces had taken full control of the strait.
Nakdi said the measure would continue until Iran’s "legitimate demands" were met. He also claimed that some people were smuggling oil in small vessels and transferring small amounts of smuggled oil to tankers.

Speaking about alternative passage routes in the Strait of Hormuz, Nakdi said that a small number of routes had been created by blasting and demolishing rocks.
Nakdi said the alternative routes in question would be closed as soon as possible.
