Iranian national shooter Hanieh Rostamiyan claimed a bronze medal at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup. Rostamiyan represented Iran by stepping onto the podium in the 10m air pistol category.
The athlete completed the qualification round in sixth place with 579 points, advancing to the eight-person final. In the final, she secured third place by winning a shoot-off against her South Korean opponent.
According to Press TV, China's Yao Qianxun won the gold medal in the category, while India's Sainyam Sainyam took silver.
Rostamiyan's success ended the Iranian senior shooting team's year-long wait for a medal in an international competition.
The ISSF World Cup, held from July 20 to 29, featured 683 athletes from 66 countries. The event is considered one of the last major international rifle, pistol and shotgun competitions before the 2026 Asian Games.
