IRIB chief Peyman Jebelli said on Tuesday that more than 50 IRIB facilities across Iran were targeted during the 40-day war with the United States and Israel.
According to Jebelli, the Glass Building in the IRIB complex in Tehran was hit for the second time during the latest clashes. The structure, which houses part of the broadcaster’s operations and is closely identified with IRIB, stands among the high-rises of northern Tehran.
Two or three floors of the Glass Building collapsed
Jebelli said both sides of the building were hit in the latest attacks and announced that two or three floors had collapsed. The attacks also caused a concrete wall to collapse.
Jebelli said debris had been cleared from the building after the previous attack and that contracts had been signed for its reconstruction. However, the work was postponed after new clashes began.
Jebelli said reconstruction of the Glass Building would begin once conditions stabilized, adding that IRIB would also need to allocate financial resources to repair dozens of damaged facilities across the country.
IRIB losses greater than in the previous war
Jebelli said IRIB’s losses in the latest clashes were several times greater than the damage recorded during last year’s 12-day war. He did not provide a detailed figure for the total damage.
Timeline of the clashes in Iran
The Glass Building was also hit during a live broadcast on June 16, 2025. The Iran-Israel war, which began on June 13, ended with a ceasefire on June 24.
The latest clashes began on February 28 with US and Israeli attacks on Iran and lasted about 40 days. Tehran responded with attacks on Israel and US military assets in the region.
Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum of understanding in June aimed at ending the war. However, the temporary agreement ceased to function shortly afterward.
