Strengthening peace and security in the Strait of Hormuz will be among the main topics of Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi’s talks in Tehran on Tuesday, August 25.
As part of his visit, al-Busaidi is expected to meet with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. Iranian Foreign Ministry official Esmaeil Baghaei said the meeting would address bilateral relations between Iran and Oman, as well as regional developments.
Strait of Hormuz at the center of the talks
The fact that both countries have coastlines on the Strait of Hormuz makes regional security one of the key issues on the visit’s agenda. The sides are expected to exchange views on strengthening peace and security in the region.
The visit will take place as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation between Iran and Oman and continue political consultations. Al-Busaidi’s visit to Tehran coincides with ongoing negotiations on issues concerning the Strait of Hormuz.
