The eighth round of talks between Israel and Lebanon is planned to take place in Rome, the capital of Italy, on September 15-16.
Israel's state broadcaster reported that the agenda includes establishing a force to determine whether the "pilot areas" in southern Lebanon have been cleared of Hezbollah elements.
No information was provided on which countries would join the force or how its operating mechanism would work. The talks are also aimed at expanding the areas from which Israel would withdraw and that would be transferred to the Lebanese army.
The report also said that more than 80 percent of Lebanese people supported negotiations with Israel, according to a poll conducted in Lebanon. Lebanon has not issued a statement on the new round of talks.
Previous rounds of talks
Since April 14, Israel and Lebanon have held seven rounds of direct talks, five in Washington, the capital of the United States, and two in Rome.
Hezbollah said it did not recognize the talks and called on the Lebanese government to halt them.
