The Israeli army's military activities along the border in southern Lebanon—including artillery fire, home demolitions and fires in agricultural areas—continued despite the ceasefire framework.
Israeli artillery targeted the town of Mansouri in the southern province, while Israeli forces carried out demolitions with bulldozers in the town of Houla in Nabatieh province.
Demolitions following explosions in Khiam
Israeli forces stationed in Khiam, in Nabatieh, demolished homes in the western neighborhood near the Al-Mabarrat schools in a series of explosions. Thick smoke rose over the area after the blasts.
Fires also broke out in agricultural areas and on properties in Khiam. The flames spread to different parts of the town, while military activity in the area heightened tension and anxiety among residents.
Attacks continued despite the June 26 agreement
Israel's attacks on Lebanon continued after the framework agreement signed by Beirut and Tel Aviv on June 26 with U.S. support.
The agreement calls for Israel to gradually withdraw from occupied Lebanese territory, while the Lebanese army is deployed in the area and armed groups, with Hezbollah specifically in mind, are disarmed.
Lebanon's death toll reaches 4,348
Lebanese authorities say 4,348 people have been killed and 12,307 injured in the attacks that have continued since March 2. More than 1 million people have been displaced by the attacks.
Israel has controlled some areas of southern Lebanon for decades and others since the 2023–2024 war. Israeli forces advanced more than 10 kilometers into Lebanese territory during the attacks.
Israel also continues to control territory in Palestine and Syria, while rejecting the withdrawal required under relevant United Nations resolutions and continuing to oppose the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
