Israeli forces deployed around Joseph’s Tomb, located east of Nablus in the West Bank. The Palestinian official news agency WAFA reported that some Palestinians living in the area were forcibly removed from their homes during the operation.
The homes of the displaced Palestinians were converted into military barracks, while Israeli snipers were positioned on the rooftops of nearby buildings.

Hundreds of Israelis were also brought by bus to the area where the tomb is located. The group entered Joseph’s Tomb, which is considered sacred by Jews, and performed religious rituals there.

The religious and historical status of Joseph’s Tomb
Located in an area under the control of the Palestinian Authority, Joseph’s Tomb is among the most tense sites in the West Bank. The area frequently sees similar raids.

Jews believe that the tomb of Joseph is located at the site. However, many archaeologists say that the structure is several centuries old and belongs to a Muslim named Yusuf al-Duwaykat.
