Several areas in southern Lebanon were targeted by Israeli airstrikes and artillery fire on Monday. Illumination flares were used and heavy machine-gun fire was directed at the area during the attacks, while Israeli military vehicles were seen moving.
The Lebanese National News Agency reported that Israeli warplanes struck the area around the town of Kafr Tebnit in Nabatieh Governorate and the Ali al-Tahir forest near Nabatieh al-Faouqa between the night and Monday morning.
Nabatieh al-Faouqa, Zawtar al-Sharqiya and the Khallet Mifdoun area between Zawtar al-Sharqiya and Mayfadoun were targeted intermittently by Israeli artillery throughout the night. Artillery fire also hit the areas around Beit Lif, Hadatha and Baraachit in the Bint Jbeil district.
Air and artillery strikes spread across a wide area
The area around Wadi Saluki and the town of Touline in the Marjayoun district was bombed. Illumination flares were used around Zawtar al-Sharqiya, Markaba, Hula and Hadatha.
Heavy machine-gun fire was directed at the towns of Srebin and Hadatha, the area around Mays al-Jabal, Wadi Saluki and Wadi Zibqin. Israeli military vehicles were seen moving around Hadatha, Beit Yahoun, Rashit and Mays al-Jabal.
In the morning, Israeli warplanes struck the valley in the town of Zibqin. Heavy artillery fire also hit the towns of Mansouri and Majdal Zoun in the Southern Governorate and the surrounding valleys at the same time.
Before dawn, Israeli forces used illumination flares over some villages in the western and central areas. Several houses in the town of Mansouri were reportedly blown up and demolished before daybreak.
Attacks continue despite agreement
According to Lebanese authorities, at least 4,386 people have been killed, 12,407 wounded and more than 1 million displaced in the attacks that have continued since March 2.
Israeli attacks have continued despite a framework agreement signed between Israel and Lebanon on June 26 under U.S. mediation. The agreement calls for the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory, the deployment of the Lebanese army in those areas and Hezbollah's disarmament.
Some areas in southern Lebanon have been under Israeli control for years, while others were occupied after the previous war between 2023 and 2024. Israeli forces have advanced more than 10 kilometers into Lebanese territory during the current attacks.
