Israel’s UN representative Danon said Israel would respond to a possible Iranian attack without waiting for instructions from any authority.
Danon said they would “strike Iran hard” and claimed that they were acting in coordination with the United States.
Danon’s three objectives regarding Iran
Danon said three objectives regarding Iran must be achieved through negotiations, economic sanctions or military action.
He listed those objectives as preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, stopping it from maintaining its ballistic missile threat and ending its support for proxy groups.
Netanyahu’s visit to the US will be brief
Danon said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to the United States for an expected speech at the United Nations General Assembly would be very brief because of his busy schedule.
He said Netanyahu would make the visit despite criticism from New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
Katz also announces tough response to Iran
In a statement on September 3, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz had claimed that his country would be free of all restrictions if Iran attacked Israel.
Katz had said the army would target all of Iran’s infrastructure, including its energy facilities, and would “send Iran back to the Stone Age and into darkness.”
On September 10, he also said Tehran’s vital energy facilities would face a forceful response in the event of any Iranian attack.
