The Palestinian Ministry of Endowments reported that Israeli forces raided Al-Aqsa Mosque 26 times in June 2026 and blocked the call to prayer 84 times at the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron.
According to the ministry's report, Israel's violations against holy sites continued in June. The report noted that 4,212 settlers entered through the Maghrebi Gate during the morning and evening raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The report recorded that while 'Heykel' groups continued to call for intensifying raids and imposing a new situation inside Al-Aqsa Mosque, Safed Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu increased his calls for establishing a synagogue at Al-Aqsa Mosque. The report emphasized that Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir also promised to work towards this, targeting the historical and legal status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The report documented that settlers performed Talmudic rituals in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, including 'epic prostration', collective seclusion, open and collective prayers, and praying for Israeli soldiers in front of the Dome of the Rock. It also stated that Rabbi Elisha Wolfson, head of the 'Yeshivat Cebel el-Heykel' school, raided Al-Aqsa Mosque multiple times with accompanying settlers and performed Talmudic rituals.
The report conveyed that Israeli forces tightened measures against worshippers around Al-Aqsa Mosque, especially on Fridays, raided the vicinity of the Qibli Mosque and the Dome of the Rock during sermons and prayers, and imposed strict checks at the gates.
At the Ibrahimi Mosque, the report stated that 950 Israeli soldiers entered in June and the call to prayer was blocked 84 times. It recorded that since the beginning of 2025, Israeli authorities have closed the mosque's eastern gate, covered its windows with tarpaulins, closed gate number 7 to endowment employees, and exerted pressure on worshippers and staff.
The report also included information that a ceiling was installed in the mosque courtyard without consulting the Ministry of Endowments or the Hebron Municipality, and that the director of the Ibrahimi Mosque and the chief muezzin were detained and removed for 12 days.
The report stated that settlers also attacked other mosques in the West Bank, setting fire to two mosques in the towns of Jiljiliya and Mezari al-Nubani north of Ramallah. It noted that settler groups raided the 'Mescid er-Ras' in the Jabiri neighborhood of Hebron, hung Israeli flags on walls and roofs, played Hebrew songs through loudspeakers, and prevented worshippers from reaching the mosque.
The Palestinian Ministry of Endowments called on the international community and human rights organizations to take action to stop the violations, protect Islamic holy sites, and preserve the historical and legal status quo there.
According to official Palestinian data, since October 8, 2023, 1,175 Palestinians have been killed, 12,919 injured, approximately 24,000 detained, and 33,000 displaced in attacks by Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank.
