In Israel, far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Culture and Sports Minister Miki Zohar reacted to US Vice President J. D. Vance's harsh remarks targeting Israeli cabinet members.
Ben-Gvir, in a post on his social media account, responded to Vance's question "What do you suggest?" which directly targeted Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, who criticize Trump. Ben-Gvir said, "My suggestion is to deal with the Nazis of the 21st century, just as the US dealt with the Nazis of the 20th century."
Miki Zohar, on the other hand, objected to Vance's remarks that Israel's weapons are financed by American taxpayers' money. Zohar claimed that the intelligence provided to the US has saved the lives of many American citizens.
Zohar argued that technologies developed in Israel are primarily used by the US military, highlighting the military and technological cooperation between the two countries. "The partnership between Israel and the US is important for the free world," he said.
Vance, in a statement addressing some cabinet members in Israel who criticize the US, had said that two-thirds of the defensive weapons protecting the homeland in the last three months were produced by American hands and financed by American taxpayers' money.
Vance also harshly criticized Israeli politicians, saying, "Israel's problem is not Donald Trump. Anyone in Israel who thinks their biggest problem is President Trump should wake up and see the reality of the situation their country is in."
