The Israeli military announced that an officer was moderately wounded during operations in southern Lebanon last night. Israeli army radio reported that the wounding occurred during a clash with armed men, but gave no further details.
Israel's Channel 12 television reported that the clash took place on Ali al-Tahir hill near the southern town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa. The incident came after Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon involving explosions, artillery fire, and illumination rockets. Meanwhile, Israeli drones conducted low-altitude flights over Beirut and its southern suburbs.
According to data from Lebanon's Health Ministry, since March 2, Israeli attacks have killed 4,333 people and wounded 12,236. Israel continues its strikes despite the framework agreement signed on June 26 between Beirut and Tel Aviv under US mediation. The deal calls for the phased withdrawal of Israeli troops from all occupied Lebanese territory in exchange for the deployment of the Lebanese army to those areas and the disarmament of armed groups identified as Hezbollah.
