Early in the morning, a mosque in the village of Jiljilya, near Ramallah in the West Bank, was set on fire. The attack resulted in the burning of the women's section and damage to the building's exterior.
It was reported that the attackers wrote some Hebrew phrases on the mosque walls before leaving the scene. Attacks in Jiljilya have increased recently, and last month, during an assault on the village, a flock of sheep belonging to Palestinians was stolen.
Homes and Vehicles Targeted in Beyta
In Beyta, south of Nablus, Palestinians were also targeted in an attack. Israelis attacked homes in the Bi’r Kuza and El-Harik areas, damaged numerous vehicles, and broke the windows of a house.
After intervention by local residents, the attackers left the town. Subsequently, Israeli soldiers who arrived in the area reportedly beat Palestinians and injured four people.
Neighborhoods Locked Down and Numerous Arrests in Qalqilya
The Israeli army also conducted a raid in Qalqilya, in the northern West Bank. Entry and exit to some neighborhoods were blocked, and the entrances to the Nezzal neighborhood were controlled.
According to local sources, a large number of soldiers entered the city with the support of about 16 military vehicles. Reinforcements were sent from northern and southern checkpoints, and infantry units were deployed to various neighborhoods.
The forces raided many homes and subjected Palestinians to field interrogations. At least five Palestinians were reported arrested during the raids.
Residents said Israeli soldiers stated the raids were conducted to search for weapons. Israeli forces also reportedly raided the Fawwar Refugee Camp in the south and the Askar Refugee Camp in the north of the West Bank.
Water-Carrying Vehicles Seized in Tubas
In Tubas, a tractor and a water tanker belonging to Palestinians were among the seized vehicles. Mutaz Bisharat, responsible for Settlement Activities at the Tubas Governorate, stated that vehicles carrying water to a Palestinian family in the south were confiscated.
Bisharat also said that a day earlier, water supply lines used by the family were damaged by construction machinery. This indicates that pressure on water infrastructure in the same area continues.
Raids frequently conducted in various parts of the West Bank often result in deaths, injuries, arrests, property damage, and harm to crops and animals. The recent incidents have once again highlighted the tension in the region.
