Iranian President Masoud Pezeşkiyan stated that national unity and social solidarity play a decisive role in thwarting plans against Iran.
Pezeşkiyan made this assessment during the General Assembly meeting of the Iranian Academy of Medical Sciences in Tehran. In his speech, he drew attention to hostile initiatives targeting the country.
The president referred to two recent attacks imposed by the US and Israeli regimes, expressing that the assaults on Iran’s leading religious leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, senior military commanders, scientists, and scientific capacities reflect an effort to hinder the country’s progress and development.
Pezeşkiyan affirmed that the Iranian people will continue to protect the country’s independence, national honor, and territorial integrity in the face of external pressure and threats.
He also emphasized the need to leave behind political disputes and factional divisions, noting that competitive approaches fueled by personal interests have been one of the country’s past weaknesses.
Pezeşkiyan stated that Iran’s path to progress depends on empowering talented individuals, working together, and utilizing all available resources. He added that qualified individuals should not be deprived of opportunities due to restrictive viewpoints.
The president described national unity and solidarity as the country’s most valuable asset under current conditions. He noted that the Iranian people have repeatedly demonstrated their readiness to strongly defend the country and national interests.
Addressing recent developments, Pezeşkiyan said the Iranian people have stood by the country and the Islamic Revolution for over 100 days, and this social resilience and unity have thwarted many of the enemies’ calculations and plans.
