Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman conveyed a message of full solidarity with Riyadh during a phone call with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan.
Bin Abdulrahman said Qatar supports Saudi Arabia’s legitimate measures to protect its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity and interests. He said Saudi Arabia’s security is an integral part of the common security of Qatar and the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Call to reduce regional tensions
The two ministers discussed developments in the region, as well as ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and support these relations. They also addressed diplomatic initiatives to ease tensions and joint coordination to enhance security and stability.
Qatar reiterated its support for all efforts to reach a comprehensive agreement that would end the tensions and establish lasting peace in the region.
Death toll from attacks in Saudi Arabia
The call took place as regional tensions and Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia were escalating. Since October 5, five airports in the country have been targeted in attacks, in which 20 people were reported killed and hundreds injured. The attacks also caused material damage.
Several Arab airlines suspended or canceled their flights to King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
Military clashes between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis have continued since July. Civil aviation facilities and energy companies inside the country were also reported to have been targeted as part of the clashes.
