As Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia escalate and Gulf security arrangements come into focus, Qatar’s Ambassador to Türkiye Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Henzab visited the Turkish Defense Ministry in Ankara, where he met Minister Yaşar Güler.
The ministry released photos of the visit but did not say what was discussed.

A decade-old defense partnership
Doha and Ankara have been bound since 2014 by a military cooperation agreement that established the Qatari-Turkish Combined Joint Force Command in Doha, and their leaders meet regularly under the Supreme Strategic Committee set up the same year.
Qatar’s stance on the Mecca alliance
On new regional arrangements, Doha has voiced support for the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement linking Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, but Ibrahim bin Sultan al-Hashimi, director of media and communications at Qatar’s Foreign Ministry, said it is too early to talk about Qatar joining.
The visit came days after missile attacks on Abha and King Khalid airports killed three people and injured 36, according to Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation.
