Rıza Rahmani, governor of Iran’s West Azerbaijan Province, said the religious, cultural, social, linguistic and historical commonalities between Türkiye and Iran could provide a foundation for developing relations between the two countries.
Rahmani said bilateral relations should be exemplary and exceptional, adding that the shared elements connecting the two countries could advance this closeness further.
Religious visits could strengthen ties
Rahmani said he occasionally visits Istanbul and has seen works and divans printed in Persian at the Süleymaniye Library. He said these works were among the indicators of the cultural affinity between Türkiye and Iran.

Rahmani said the tourism sector between the two countries was developing and that cross-border movement had increased. Noting that large numbers of people from different countries come to Türkiye and Iran, particularly during periods of religious visits, Rahmani said this activity could contribute to the development of cultural ties in various fields.
Handicrafts and marketing capabilities could be brought together
Rahmani said Iran and Türkiye’s existing capabilities could complement each other, adding that Iran had a strong and rich heritage in the diverse field of handicrafts.
Rahmani said Türkiye was more advanced in packaging and marketing, adding that the two countries could combine these capabilities to create an integrated structure.
