The Yemen army announced that it carried out 468 operations against the Houthis on three separate fronts on Wednesday. The operations targeted Houthi fighters, military vehicles and equipment.
Major General Majid Abdullah al-Nazili, the Yemen army's military spokesman, said the operations were conducted on the eastern and al-Bayda fronts in the country's central region, as well as on the al-Mansura front in the al-Wazi'iyah area in the southwest.
Al-Nazili said hundreds of Houthis were killed or wounded during the operations and that numerous military vehicles and pieces of equipment were destroyed. The spokesman did not provide a detailed toll of casualties or damage.

Yemen army accuses Houthis of targeting civilians
The military spokesman accused the Houthis of targeting civilians and civilian property. Al-Nazili also said educational facilities had been targeted and alleged that the attacks aimed to undermine the Yemeni people's determination to restore state order.
Al-Nazili said the attacks constituted serious violations of international humanitarian law and the principles concerning the protection of civilians. The Houthis did not immediately comment on the Yemen army's operations or accusations.
Fighting continues in different parts of Yemen
Fighting between government forces and the Houthis has intensified in Taiz and Lahij governorates, around the Bab al-Mandab Strait, in Marib in the east, al-Jawf in the north and al-Bayda in the central region.

The latest clashes, which began in early July, became part of what has been described as the largest military escalation since the period of relative calm that followed the April 2022 ceasefire.
The conflict in Yemen deepened after the Houthis seized control of the capital, Sana'a, and parts of the country in 2014. A Saudi-led coalition intervened in 2015 to support Yemen's internationally recognized government.
