Demonstrations in solidarity with the Palestinian people were held in Tunisia to mark the third year of the war in Gaza. Dozens of people gathered outside the municipal theater in the capital, chanting slogans in support of Palestine and against Israel.
Demonstrators chanted, "Resistance, resistance; neither peace nor reconciliation" and "The flood makes no distinction between Zionists and imperialists."
Call for continued solidarity with Palestine
Gassan Buazi, a member of the National Committee for the Defense of the Right of Palestine and Solidarity Flotilla Activists, told demonstrators that Palestine would remain permanently on the agenda.

Buazi said support for Palestine and the resistance could not be considered separately from the Tunisian people's economic and social rights, as well as the rights and freedoms for which the people are fighting. Buazi said those who claim to support Palestine could not suppress pro-Palestinian activists, and accused all governments of collaborating through silence or conspiracy.
Events held in several cities
Solidarity demonstrations for Palestine also spread to universities and schools across Tunisia. Nizar al-Jarayi, secretary-general of the Universities Union, said demonstrations were held in the capital Tunis as well as in several cities, including Sousse, Sfax, Mahdia and Zaytuna University.
Al-Jarayi said student groups used the events to emphasize that the attacks in Gaza represented a turning point that would not be forgotten in Palestinian and Arab history. Al-Jarayi argued that the public reaction seen during the first phase of the war had waned after claims that a ceasefire had been achieved, and said the attacks were continuing and that hundreds of Palestinians had been killed even after the ceasefire agreement was signed.
Al-Jarayi also alleged that there was a plan to displace Palestinians through the siege on Gaza, by preventing the entry of food and obstructing reconstruction efforts. Videos of demonstrations organized by high school students in various Tunisian cities also circulated online.

The humanitarian situation in Gaza
Despite the ceasefire declared on October 10, 2025, attacks have continued in Gaza, killing 1,467 Palestinians and injuring 5,161 people during this period. Most of those killed and injured were children and women, while the area has suffered widespread destruction.
Food, medicine, medical supplies, shelter materials and prefabricated housing have not entered Gaza in the quantities needed. In Gaza, home to approximately 2.4 million Palestinians, 2.15 million people have been displaced and are living under severe conditions.
The attacks that have continued since October 2023 have killed more than 74,000 Palestinians, injured more than 175,000 people and damaged 90 percent of the infrastructure.
