Saudi Arabia's Defense Ministry announced that it had thwarted drone attacks targeting oil facilities in the country's eastern region. Defense Ministry spokesperson Brigadier General Turki al-Maliki said the air defense systems destroyed many drones.
In a statement on the U.S.-based platform X, Maliki said, "These terrorist attempts were once again launched from Iraqi territory and carried out by Iran-backed terrorist militias."
The spokesperson stated that Saudi Arabia has the right to defend itself and its capabilities, and that it reserves the right to respond at the appropriate time and place, stressing that it holds the right of retaliation against such attacks.
