Armed settlers wounded six Palestinians in the Masafer Yatta area of the occupied West Bank's Hebron governorate and set fire to several homes in the village of Khirbet al-Tuba.
The Palestine Red Crescent said in a statement that its teams found six people, including three women, with crush and impact injuries as a result of the settler attack. The wounded were taken to hospital.
The official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that armed settler groups raided the area, attacked residents, and set homes on fire. The agency said that due to the fires, many people, including women and children, suffered smoke inhalation and were at risk of suffocation.
The Masafer Yatta area is frequently subjected to home demolitions and settler attacks as part of Israel's policies of displacing Palestinian communities and expanding settlements.
Following the genocide Israel launched on the Gaza Strip on October 8, 2023, attacks by the Israeli army and settlers against Palestinians and their property in the West Bank have intensified. According to official Palestinian data, since that date, more than 1,182 Palestinians have been killed, around 13,000 wounded, and nearly 24,000 detained in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
