A Palestinian home caught fire during a raid on Friday evening in Kafr Malik, a village northeast of Ramallah. The incident took place in the occupied West Bank.
The fire broke out at the home of Palestinian Resmi Hamayil after Israeli soldiers used tear gas grenades while entering the village. Local residents who tried to extinguish the flames and bring the fire under control were prevented by the soldiers from approaching the house.

Pressure on Palestinians in the West Bank
Attacks against Palestinians and their property have intensified in the West Bank and East Jerusalem since the war in Gaza began in 2023. During this period, Palestinians have been killed and detained, homes and other structures have been demolished, mosques and vehicles have been set on fire, agricultural land has been destroyed, and farmers have been prevented from accessing their land.
Palestinians warn that these practices could pave the way for the annexation of the West Bank by Israel. They say such a move would weaken the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state envisaged in United Nations resolutions.
The displacement of Palestinians since 1948
Israel was established in 1948 on part of the land of Palestine. At least 750,000 Palestinians were displaced during that period as a result of attacks and massacres by armed Zionist groups, and Israel later occupied the remaining parts of the Palestinian territories.
