Türkiye has taken a firm stance against the increasing violence by Israeli settlers in the occupied Palestinian territories. In a written statement, the Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the attacks in the West Bank that killed four Palestinians.
The statement emphasized that these actions by 'terrorist settlers' encouraged by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's government are a 'direct result of the genocide policy' pursued by Israel. The ministry reiterated its call to the international community not to let the 'terrorist settlers who usurp Palestinian lands and those who support them go unpunished for their crimes.'
On Friday, attacks by settlers and the Israeli army in 16 separate areas across six governorates of the West Bank left four Palestinians dead, at least seven wounded, and 11 detained. The methods included opening fire, raids, beatings, burning a house and agricultural lands, closing town entrances, and setting up military checkpoints.
In the occupied West Bank, there has been a marked increase in attacks by the Israeli army and settlers since the start of the war of destruction on the Gaza Strip in October 2023. According to official Palestinian figures, 1,182 Palestinians have been killed in these attacks so far, thousands have been wounded, and about 24,000 have been detained.
