Türkiye called on the international community to end raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque and take deterrent measures against attacks that violate international law.
Speaking at a weekly press briefing held in Kayseri on Thursday, Ministry of National Defense spokesperson Zeki Aktürk said raids on Al-Aqsa by Israeli extremist groups were increasing tensions in the region. Aktürk said Türkiye rejected the raids and stated that violations and provocations targeting holy sites were undermining efforts to achieve peace and stability.
International call for Palestine
Aktürk said Israel continued its attacks in the West Bank and settlers continued their efforts to seize Palestinian land. He argued that Israel had caused the deaths of 74,000 Palestinians and deprived Palestinians of their right to live with dignity.

The Ministry of National Defense spokesperson reiterated Türkiye's call for deterrent measures against Israel's attacks that violate international law and international humanitarian law. Aktürk said global public opinion needed to take action to end the situation in Palestine.
Entries to Al-Aqsa continued during the previous four days
Approximately 800 Israeli settlers entered Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem on Thursday under the protection of Israeli police.

According to data from the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf Department, more than 1,500 settlers entered Al-Aqsa on Sunday, more than 1,700 on Monday, more than 1,400 on Tuesday and more than 2,400 on Wednesday.
Settler raids on Al-Aqsa intensify during Jewish holidays. Violations of the existing status quo at the mosque are also said to increase during these periods.
