Tensions rise in the Red Sea
Following an airstrike on the runway of Sana'a airport, the capital of Yemen, on July 13, the Houthis held Saudi Arabia responsible for the attack. The attack was allegedly intended to prevent an aircraft from Iran from landing.
The Houthis later announced that they had attacked Abha Airport in the country's southwest. They also announced that they had closed the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait to prevent Saudi-owned ships from passing through.
