Tensions escalate in the Strait of Hormuz
Security tensions around the Strait of Hormuz continue under the shadow of the war launched by the US and Israel against Iran on February 28. The US has been launching attacks on Iran, citing claims that Tehran is targeting commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
Last June, a ceasefire agreement was signed between Washington and Tehran through Qatari and Pakistani mediation. However, US President Trump announced on July 8 that the ceasefire had ended after the escalation resumed.
