A new project addressing the housing needs of returnees is being implemented in Aleppo, Syria, along the main artery leading to the Cilvegözü Border Gate. The project, to be built on a 500,000-square-meter site, will include 4,000 homes, commercial areas and a hospital.
Abdullah Hamad, who is responsible for the project, said housing demand had risen in Aleppo after the area was liberated. Hamad said people who lived in Türkiye during the war in Syria had become accustomed to living in secure, gated residential compounds with social amenities.
According to Hamad, the destruction of more than one-third of Aleppo has made it difficult for returnees to find housing with similar standards. Hamad said they were bringing their real estate experience from Türkiye and Egypt to the city, adding that the project would provide residents with secure, fully equipped infrastructure.
The project is being carried out within the framework of Aleppo Governorate’s new regulations on mass housing. Hamad said the work represented an important step toward the city’s reconstruction and the return of industrialists and traders.
