Katz announces capture of senior Hamas official in Gaza
Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz announced Tuesday that a senior Hamas official had been captured in the Gaza Strip. An Israeli security official said the detainee was wounded during the operation and taken to Israel for treatment.
Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said a senior Hamas official was captured Tuesday during operations in the Gaza Strip.
Katz did not disclose the detainee’s identity but said Israeli forces were pursuing Hamas members.

Meanwhile, Ismail al-Thawabta, director-general of the Gaza Government Media Office, had announced that some members of an Israeli-affiliated special force attempting to operate in Gaza City had been killed that same morning.
