No one was killed in an explosion at a munitions depot in the Dumayr area of Syria’s Damascus countryside on Saturday.
Syria’s official Al-Ikhbariya channel reported, citing a security source, that the explosion occurred at a depot holding munitions from the former regime that had been prepared for destruction. The same statement said the damage caused by the incident was limited to property loss.
Civil defense teams were sent to the area after the explosion. While the teams worked at the scene, an investigation was conducted into the nature of the explosion.
