The Nicaragua-flagged petroleum products tanker Petro Dolphin was attacked on Oct. 11 while anchored off Sohar, Oman, near the Strait of Hormuz, setting off a large fire on board.
Nine of its 11 Indian crew members were rescued, while a search continues for two missing sailors, according to reports. Footage shows thick black smoke rising from the tanker as crew members in life jackets are evacuated by boat.
Conflicting accounts

The UK Maritime Trade Operations centre (UKMTO) said the tanker was targeted by a drone, while the Navy of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claimed the vessel struck a sea mine after taking an unauthorized route.
On the same day, the Marshall Islands-flagged tanker Valthera was hit by an unknown projectile in the Strait of Hormuz and caught fire. India condemned the attacks and called for de-escalation, while Brent crude rose above $103 a barrel amid renewed fears over shipping in the strait.
