Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir advocated expanding attacks in the Gaza Strip and called for Israel to kill 30-40 Palestinians every night.
Speaking on the podcast October 8, hosted by Rom Braslavski, Ben-Gvir opposed limiting airstrikes to people posing an immediate threat. He said Israel should carry out extensive airstrikes across the entire Gaza Strip.
“Some people do not deserve to live”
Ben-Gvir argued that Palestinians not involved in the fighting should not be exempt from the attacks either, saying that some people “do not deserve to live” and “should not even be considered human.”
Ben-Gvir also described as a “terrorist” a woman alleged to have given Braslavski food while he was held hostage in Gaza. He argued that she should be shot and killed.
Israeli soldier Braslavski was captured by Hamas on October 7, 2023, and released on October 13, 2025, as part of a hostage exchange between Israel and Hamas.
Call for settlements across Gaza
Renewing his call for Israelis to resettle in Gaza, Ben-Gvir said he regarded the entire area as belonging to Israel. He said a settlement plan limited to the former Gush Katif settlement bloc, which Israel evacuated in 2005, would not be sufficient.
The Israeli minister called for settlements to spread across the entire Gaza Strip and for Palestinians in the area to voluntarily leave the homes inherited from their ancestors. Ben-Gvir also called for as much migration from the area as possible to be encouraged.
Palestinian detainees and rights organizations
Ben-Gvir said he was pleased that Palestinians in Israeli prisons were being held under harsh conditions. Palestinian and Israeli human rights organizations say that approximately 9,500 Palestinians, including women and children, are being held in Israeli prisons.
Ben-Gvir also called for Israeli rights organizations such as Peace Now and Standing Together, which advocate coexistence between Palestinians and Israelis, to be banned. He accused these organizations of “supporting terrorism.”
